How far would you ride for a cheeseburger?

17.4 miles round trip. Seems a bit extreme to justify a cheeseburger from Helvetia Tavern but we were able to enjoy them with no guilt.

Another quiet weekend here. I was on-call so we had to stay in town but we did the usual: farmer's market (no more leeks but plenty of arugula), errands, etc. Plan A for today was to take the bikes out to Sauvie Island for a ride but that plan was scrapped when we went out to find no air left in the right front tire of the Civic. Since we had to take it in to get fixed, we were left with no bike rack so Plan B to the rescue. Ride to Helvetia Tavern for cheeseburgers (7.5 miles one way). No problem and another chance to play with my new bike computer (a Mother's Day gift from Chad & Nathan. Yeah, most moms want jewelry and flowers. I wanted a bike computer.). The extra mileage came when we went farther up Helvetia Road after lunch so Chad could show me some of the killer hills he has to run during the Helvetia Half Marathon in three weeks. Eew....Better him than me.
