Caramel, Chocolate, Oh My
What better time than Easter to try the much-coveted Essenhaus tapioca recipe. It doesn't look like much but it's tapioca pudding, not an elaborate gateau. The verdict....YUMM-O. The ultimate in comfort food. Click for the recipe....
The one downside about making homemade pudding is that you invariably have a stuck on, goopy mess in whatever pot you choose to cook in. The recipe recommends spraying the pot with cooking spray prior to starting but that didn't seem to make much difference at the end of the day. After googling some household hints sites, the overwhelming recommendation was to fill the pot with cold water, add a fabric softener dryer sheet, and soak it all overnight. Most claimed the food wiped right off the next morning. Heck, I'll try anything once. Despite my skepticism, the tip actually worked. After the overnight soak, the stuck on tapioca came right off with a scrubbie and almost no elbow grease. Who knew?
