Il Porcellino
Cinghiale or the Florentine Boar was a hit at Butchart Gardens. Taking in the Christmas display at the Gardens was one of the reasons I wanted to go to Victoria and I must say they didn't disappoint. The Twelve Days of Christmas dotted the evergreen landscape and carollers entertained everyone. And the best part? We were not playing *Dodge-People* like we were last time we visited the Gardens in late Spring. Granted, only the holly was in bloom but the many varieties of evergreens were still beautiful. And because of it's northern location, we were able to see the gardens and the Christmas lights by 5:30 PM and we had already gone by the time the tour buses rolled in around 7. Let's hear it for off-season travel!
