Brave or Stupid?

Either way, the water was chilly. This chart was lake bottom temperature. We figured we'd get a good 10-12 F more at the surface. Yes, I managed to convince a friend to swim with me.

Lake clocked at 55 degrees by brewer's thermometer. There were people swimming in t-shirts so we had to go in, albeit in wetsuits - 1/2 mile swim - face got cold, the full suit is a touch more constrictive than my sleeveless, and I need to cut my hair (the bump where my ponytail was just hurt). All in all, a good first OWS of the year.
