Santa brought Chad tickets to see the Portland Winterhawks as a consolation for the rather annoying NHL lockout. Both of us thought about wearing NHL gear but we're both so disgusted with what's going on that we left those jerseys in the closet and pulled out the Michigan paraphernalia. All I can say is, "Thank god for college, minor leagues, and major juniors." These kids still play hockey because they love it. We got a two-period attention span from Nathan which was better than expected and he got a chance to see Tom A. Hawk, Portland's mascot. Good times all around!
In addition to the hockey game and our usual weekend errands, Chris came over for dinner and I did get some knitting done, but not as much as I wanted. The body of Ribby is blocking but I haven't cast on for the sleeves yet. I did finish knitting Mystery Project #2 and that is in the finishing queue.
The Mail Faerie also came with my Powell's spoils. The Zuni Cafe Cookbook by Judy Rodgers and hallelujah! the welcome table by Maya Angelou. I read the Angelou book today and it has many fun and inspirational stories which accompany yummy sounding recipes. A great book to read if not to cook from.
