Back in the Saddle Again

The recent forced inactivity had me chomping at the bit (and I thought Chad had taper crazies) so we went hiking today. Not an easy walk in the park but a 4.5-mile, 1000-foot groaner up Saddle Mountain, a hike that we had wanted to do for a while but the weather never cooperated until today. Clear skies as far as the eye could see and a wonderful view of Mt. Rainier plus all the Cascade peaks on the ridgeline. Nathan even made it up the trail for 3/4 of a mile under his own power before he decided I had to carry him (and 15 lbs of gear) UP the mountain while Chad was the lucky one to carry him down.

Our post-hike adventure took us down to Pacific City where we chilled on the patio at Pelican Pub & Brewery, one of our favorites, and took advantage of the gorgeous day to play on the beach for what may be the last time this year.

And for all who are curious, I am feeling MUCH better!

Glad to see you're feeling better! That looks like a beautiful hike and fun beach. I am jealous!
