A Balancing Act

My old kitchen scale was a Royal Postal Scale from Costco. Serviceable, but annoying just the same. The plate was not removable so it was hard to clean and it had the tendency to turn off at the most inopportune times.

So I finally bit the bullet and got a proper kitchen scale-easy to clean and can do both English and metric measurements. Who doesn't love the metric system?

My scale of choice? A Soehnle Futura on close-out from overstock.com. Isn't it pretty?
