What Clark Saw

It was another dry Sunday so of course we took advantage of it; this time going farther afield. To Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach to hike up to Tillamook Head, specifically a viewpoint named "Clark's Point of View". Note the historic turn of phrase....our hiking books made a big deal out of it but *shrug*.

And what better lunch for a hike than red pepper and roasted garlic foccacia a.k.a. Use #4673 for pizza dough.

A little chewy, slightly sweet, with the crunch of kosher salt on top. With thin slices of dry Italian salame...surely a hiking repast fit for William Clark himself (kudos for anyone who can remember the full name of Mr. Clark's partner). Click on for the recipe....

Why #4673? It makes me think of Jean Valjean. I checked the recipe and still do not have a clue.
